My wife Candi and I were married on January 24, 1985. She is now retired after several years as the Computer Specialist for the North Elementary School in Marshall, Illinois. She has earned a Bachelor of Arts, with a Communications Major, from Texas Lutheran University in Seguin, Texas. She has also earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies degree from United Theological Seminary in Dayton, Ohio. Candi is an Air Force "Brat." She was born in Alaska, and has lived in Wyoming, South Dakota, England, Texas, Mississippi, California, Ohio, and Illinois before settling down with Doug in Indiana.
Our household would not be the same without our cats.
Bella is 16 years old, and showing a lot of the signs of her age. But she still gets along very well.
Yadi is a six year old busy-body. He came to be with us in the fall of 2020.
R.I.P. to our dearly departed: A.C., Blackie, Sophia, and Anna.
Our son Paul was born in South Korea, and we adopted him when he was five months old. Paul is now 35 years old, and graduated from Marshall High School in 2006. Paul has his own business as a Personal Trainer in Bargersville, Indiana. He got married to a special girl by the name of Crysta Manalo. Crysta is a graduate of Indiana State University, having majored in Music Administration. Their wedding day was May 31, 2014.
Hallie Grace Elmore is our first grandchild. She was born on June 23, 2016, the daughter of Paul and Crysta. Hallie is quickly becoming a 9-year-old young woman. Doug is planning on making the "Spoiling Grandparents All-Star Team."
Our second grandchild is Haven Luke Elmore, born on April 19, 2021. Haven is really into toy cars and pretend driving. Doug is looking forward to seeing the future point guard and shortstop that Haven is going to become.
My parents are Lloyd & Mary Elmore. Dad passed away on January 3, 2018 after a long career in secondary education. Primarily he taught at Belleville East High School. Mary passed away on February 10, 2018 after a career in the nursing profession. They both were graduates of the University of Missouri-Columbia, where Lloyd was a part of the 1954 NCAA Championship Baseball team. They are the parents of three, grandparents of five, and great-grandparents of five. We celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in June of 2007.
